Years ago, maybe 2005, when I was first introduced to (the now late, great) David Thomas, he just about had a conniption fit when he saw me using some brand of toothpaste 'fortified' with fluoride.
He immediately gave me his spare tube of Tom's of Maine, all-natural, non-fluoridated toothpaste. And naturally, I was completely astonished that anyone would be camping with two full tubes of toothpaste...
Mutual friends, Liz and Bill, were equally aware of the toxicity of fluoridated toothpaste and assured me he was correct.
I became informed and was saddened to learn that in 2006, Colgate bought Tom's of Maine, so, to me, all of their products became a bit suspect.

Now, when I brush my teeth, I am happy that the minerals are strengthening my teeth; I have eliminated fluoride and am proactively taking responsibility for my own dental health!
